Who we are

Cairn Cycling Club was founded in 2025, borne from a local group of friends who loved cycling in the Aberdeenshire area.

“Cairn” is a Scottish word often linked with reaching the summit of a hilltop — a fitting symbol for our club. It also nods to the legendary Cairn O’Mount pass, a climb we’ve long used to test our limits. For us, the cairn represents more than just a hilltop — it stands for the spirit of challenge, progress, and pushing yourself to be better.

Over the years, the group of a few grew to many and we realised there was a real appetite for local riders from the North East to get together and help each other achieve their shared goals.
